Similarity to other songs[edit]

The section claiming plagiarism should be removed. It was copied over [1] from Tattoo (Loreen song) by a user account created just for this [2], as if the two songs were in the same situation and as if by changing the references the same could be written about this song.

The references that are now used here to claim plagiarism are inaccurate, mainly pure rumours and in part also misquoted in a non-neutral way.

Anne Lainto: What Anne Lainto [Wikidata] actually said in her music show: 1) Cha Cha Cha may feel familiar because e.g. Electric Callboy's We Got The Moves sounds quite similar and has quite the same mood. 2) She does not believe the songs are so similar that Electric Callboy would disapprove of the making of Cha Cha Cha. 3) She can imagine that fans of Electric Callboy may question the originality of Cha Cha Cha.

Iltalehti (referenced indirectly below): Only point 1 above was quoted by Iltalehti (yellow press) in its article. "It has been said that the song resembles this other song." "The song has become the target of plagiarism speculations." "Käärijä has rejected the rumours of plagiarism."

"Nettitrendi": This is just a short English summary of the Iltalehti ("Evening paper") article.

A tweet: The tweet has machine translated a part of the Iltalehti article from Finnish into Spanish. The tweet merely asks whether Cha Cha Cha is accused of plagiarism.

"Eurovision News" (actually eurovisionfun.com; used twice as a reference): It's a blog, not a journalistic source. As their source, they use the tweet above.

Expressen: The article in Expressen (yellow press) links to the "Eurovision News" blog post for "bloggers who have pointed out the accusations against Käärijä". Further: "The artist is accused of having copied an existing song We Got the Moves, which e.g. Aftonbladet has pointed out." "In a video on Youtube with over 97 000 plays, the two songs are compared and many think the similarities are striking. Others think that the songs just resemble one another in the intro and that the artists make music within the same genre."

Aftonbladet (referenced indirectly above): The *blog* article by Aftonbladet (yellow press) is not freely available to me in full, but the title says "Fans accuse Käärijä of song theft" Content: "But now fans accuse the artist of song theft. Listen and decide yourself: The songs are this much alike."

Gaffa (music magazine): "Käärijä has been accused of plagiarism." "In addition, Käärijä has been compared to the Electric Callboy singers, especially regarding their similar haircuts. Käärijä explains that he has had his haircut for six or seven years and wonders why people think that he would have copied the Electric Callboy singers."

In summary: it's all blogs, tweets, yellow press referencing one another for rumours and not a single article or person directly accusing plagiarism. The only direct opinion is from Anne Lainto who explicitly said the songs are not so similar as to cause disapproval by Electric Calloy. TuukkaH (talk) 21:10, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

1:17 at remix of Alan Walker reminds me 0:42 at "Vifta med händerna" by Basshunter. Is there any source for this, or is this just unintentional? Eurohunter (talk) 15:20, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
