FROLINAT[edit]

Somebody who edited this kept writing FRONILAT. Something to watch out for. I got a lot of this but maybe not all of it Elinruby (talk) 08:39, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Flag[edit]

@Applodion what isnt a reliable source? The first one is a video of a FROLINAT rally with Hissene Habre and Goukoni Oueddei in 1976 with numerous shots of Habre in front of the flag, the second one is of a document from 1973 from FROLINAT, and the third one is a picture of a medal and a FROLINAT flag from 1969 in the French Foreign Legion Museum; so what isn't a reliable source and what doesn't prove that the flag wasn't used during the war? I sent three links all from the time period. NorthTension (talk) 18:50, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@NorthTension: I have looked into it. My concern was not directed at the photos themselves; it mainly concerned the websites where they were hosted. Facebook is generally considered unreliable, and maquetland seems to mainly collect photos and historical regalia; I'm not sure we could cite it even though it states that the FROLINAT content is stored at the Foreign Legion Museum in Aubagne. We probably could use the content if it were directly published by the Foreign Legion Museum itself. However, after some research, I think that Associação Tchiweka de Documentação is a much better source than Facebook and maquetland - thus, I will restore the flag. I don't understand your hang-up with the Facebook source, yeah it's Facebook but the video itself is the best possible source for it; and I literally cannot find it anywhere else. NorthTension (talk) 21:47, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
