[edit]Hi, I removed the picture as it showed Corbett w the huge male tiger Bachelor or Powalgarh (and which was NOT a man-eater). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.107.83.209 (talk) 00:14, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
What?
[edit]Tagged for cleanup due to article's less than encyclopedic tone. -- 74.161.9.76 (talk) 23:35, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Removed the following line: "Also, in 1946, Erica Rumler is thought to have been eaten by this same tiger." There is long after the tiger was confirmed killed. Also a google search does not bring up an Erica Rumler except for a myspace page and no hits for Erica Rumler in 1946. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.118.32.67 (talk) 03:05, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Year of Corbett's Hunt
[edit]There's considerable difference in the year cited for Corbett killing the Champawat Tigress. They vary from 1907 to 1911 to 1926. I'm told that his memoir, 'Maneaters of Kumaon', only states that he killed the Champawat cat four years after a bounty was established.
This site seems as good as any, stating that Corbett slew nearly a dozen maneaters between 1907 and 1938, the Champawat being the first.

This notice also is posted on the Corbett discussion page.
Incidentally, the wikipedia entry on tiger attacks cites 1907, so the inconsistency needs to be resolved.

Year of Corbertt's Hunt
[edit]It appears that there is inconsistancy as to the year cited for the killing of the Champawat Tigress. From what I have been able to find, the majority of sources state that the hunt occured in 1911. The entry on tiger attacks on humans has been changed as has the page on Jim Corbett —Preceding unsigned comment added by Godtryan (talk • contribs) 17:57, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Notability?
[edit]This tiger would appear to fail the general notability policies. redirect to Jim Corbett (hunter)?--Shirt58 (talk) 11:24, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Picture of the tiger
[edit]The picture of the slain tiger used in this article is the same used in the article on Jim Corbett, where it is labeled as a picture of another tiger, the "bachelor of powalgarh". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.109.214.138 (talk) 01:16, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
- I cross-posted this to the talk page for the Jim Corbett article in hopes that it will be more noticeable there. --Burpen (talk) 17:35, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- The image could use a better caption specifying that this is a picture of the hunter, not of the tiger (I was unsure whether it was the article's tiger under another name, or something) David (talk) 14:15, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
So it's been known since 2012 that this is wrong picture but eight years is apparently not enough to just remove it. The bureaucracy is staggering. What a joke. --Nomad (talk) 10:55, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
