Champlain Flyer; Still Alive in the Green Mountain Railroad?[edit]

According to the Green Mountain Railroad's official webpage the Champlain Flyer still operates as a Green Mountain Railroad branch, just as the Green Mountain & White River branches do.

If this is the case, why does this page indicate that the line has been dead since 2003? Did GMRC buy this line and add it to their fleet at some point between 2004 and 2006? ---- DanTD 13:52, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • No, that's just an excursion train with the same name. Mackensen (talk) 13:49, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Audit[edit]

There's a state audit from 2003 which contains much useful background information: http://www.leg.state.vt.us/jfo/reports/Flyer%20Report%2002-2003.pdf. Mackensen (talk) 16:53, 10 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Vermont Railway #202[edit]

It looks like the Vermont Railway GP38-2 that hauled the former Champlain Flyer was #202, which was repainted blue from its former red and white paint scheme. It looks like that after the train was shutdown in 2003, the locomotive kept its blue paintwork but had the Champlain Valley Flyer logos removed from its nose and body and was replaced with the Washington County Railroad logo. For proof that it was #202 who pulled the train, I found an image with #202 in its blue paintwork, which can be found in the link below me.
