Character section[edit]

@Landingdude13: I question the inclusion of it - it now completely dominates the article, and mostly just repeats information from the plot summary, as well as including information on characters' appearances in other games. It sometimes cites unreliable sources and sometimes just appears to be original research. I guess I wouldn't oppose a small one-paragraph section covering the main characters in prose, but I find this ridiculous, and definitely not appropriate in a GA.--IDVtalk 11:44, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is correct. Per WP:INU, we try to keep in-universe plot summary type stuff to a minimum, it certainly shouldn't be a massive half of the article... Sergecross73 msg me 15:21, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That's indeed an awful lot of original research with not much purpose. Should we just delete the whole section, or distribution anyone think they can at least reliably source the voice actors and create a one/two paragraph section on the characters? ~Mable (chat) 15:52, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I am actually working on an article about the C;H anime in my sandbox at the moment, and have the VAs sourced there. When I move it out to the WP mainspace (should be ready tonight or tomorrow), the cast wouldn't really fit within the main C;H article's scope anymore, as it would just cover the game at that point (WP:VGSCOPE). Anyway, I don't really see much point in keeping a separate character section for this article - the plot summary introduces characters as they become important to the plot, and I don't see a lot of reliable secondary sources discussing them, so it feels appropriate to keep it brief imo.--IDVtalk 16:07, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That seems much more appropriate. Looks good too :) ~Mable (chat) 16:34, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Making Chaos;Head NoAH a separate page?[edit]

The game Chaos;Head NoAH is a much larger overhaul from the original visual novel. It's also the definitive version of the game, and the canon version--this leads me to believe that it should have its own distinct section. After all, VNdB separates the two, and games such as Steins;Gate Elite have a completely different page. From the people who I've talked to that know Chaos;Head, they do regard the original Chaos;Head visual novel (commonly referred to as Chaos;Head PC) and the Chaos;Head NoAH visual novel as separate entities. I'm not sure if that warrants such a distinction, however. Rosaline Li (talk) 00:27, 28 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Rosaline Li: A separate section within Chaos;Head with Noah-specific information: sure (but I have only played C;H PC, so I won't be the one to write it). As for a separate article: we do that in situations where we can find significant coverage in reliable sources that is specific to the remake/re-release/etc and its development and critical reception (see the WP manual of style). There was plenty of development information available for Steins;Gate Elite, which is why I created that article, but I have no idea if such coverage exists for Noah. If it does, there should be no problem with creating an article on it; if it doesn't, it should just be covered here in the parent article.--Alexandra IDVtalk 04:18, 28 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
