does this mean I have to like hanson? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.145.230.114 (talkcontribs) 8 Sept 2005

  • No. They were boys. -- Jmabel | Talk 01:59, September 9, 2005 (UTC)

Last name?

[edit]

Do Asya and Chloe and their father Mike and their mother Maria have a last name? User:Angr 09:20, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For some reason, they won't give their last name out in interviews, according to the Sunday Times. -- Dandelions 15:28, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

edit: and now I've added a link to the article in question and a line stating that; the article says something like "we aren't allowed to know their last name".

Mr. Show basis for name?

[edit]

One episode of Mr. Show with Bob and David featured a sketch about an Oasis-like band named Smoosh. They are so lethargic that, on a TV interview, a psychologist is on hand to keep them from answering questions by saying "dunno" or making some sarcastic remark. They also hold a contest in which a lucky winner will travel with them to the moon, where that winner will be shot in the back of the head. --216.165.62.36 10:16, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seems unlikely as basis for name, at least unless the band were to say otherwise. I suppose they could have seen a rerun; the older of the two would have been about 6 years old when it went off the air, and was about 8 when they named the band. - Jmabel | Talk 21:52, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, we now have a clean citation for a different origin. - Jmabel | Talk 22:42, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Favorite"

[edit]

I can't find a strong citation for Eels calling Smoosh their favorite band, but here is a weak one: http://rocknrollruinedmylife.blogspot.com/2006/06/eels-astoria-london.html. Looks like a decent blog, but probably not really meeting our standards for a citable source. - Jmabel | Talk 05:50, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

TV Appearance

[edit]

Shouldn't there be a mention of their appearance on the toddler show "Yo Gabba Gabba" singing 'Pajama Party Time'? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.211.224.23 (talk) 01:57, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Album 2010

[edit]

It's called "Withershins", but sells as "The World's Not Bad" at Amazon/iTunes. What gives? Shouldn't this be explained in the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.179.128.134 (talk) 17:24, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Smashmouth reference

[edit]

I removed the dn tag from the "Smashmouth" reference in the quote box, and had to pick which band called "Smashmouth" to disambiguate to. I boldly assumed that when Smoosh chose their name in 2000, they derived it from the "Smash Mouth" that had a huge hit single ("All Star") in 1999, not the "Smashmouth" that never left Nebraska and disbanded in 1995. US 30 (talk) 03:09, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Should this article be renamed to the band's new name or stay here until they become notable under the new name? For An Angel (talk) 17:46, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notability applies to the article of the whole. As far as their current name, the concern should be accuracy. 174.28.49.241 (talk) 23:54, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
