Use of 'median year'[edit]

What is the logic behind using 'median year' as the main descriptor in the table with denominations? The information was added in 2013 by an anonymous contributor without explanation. First of all, it is unclear from the text what method is used to determine the median (are we using years of service or appointments or people appointed?) but more importantly it is unclear what the meaning is that should be taken from this piece of information. Sure, it's a fun fact perhaps - but what does a 'low median' mean? Given that there are a lot of short appointments in the 19th century, depending on the method of calculating, a popularity in this timeframe would strongly influence the 'median year'. More relevant information might be the 'most recent appointment' for that denomination, and maybe the 'first appointment'. For now, I will be bold and replace median year with most recent appointment, but if there's serious disagreement, please feel free to edit/respond. effeietsanders 20:58, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
