Middle Name[edit]

This article and several sources cannot agree on whether his middle name was John or Robert. Work needed? Britmax (talk) 22:18, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

His name was definitely Charles John Bowen Cooke - without a hyphen. Several Crewe documents bear his signature "C. J. B. Cooke" and his book "British Locomotives" (1893) gives his name on the title page as "C. J. Bowen Cooke".
