Conspirator?

[edit]

Under the Sept. 11 Attacks column heading, it never mentions any reason why Burlingame was considered a (co-)conspirator. I am not saying I believe it but would like to see some evidence that suggests this. So far it simply looks like a blanket accusation and not fit for inclusion in the stub page text Brandon 19:35, 15 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Wendy

[edit]

Is this business with Wendy's death really necessary? Seems like conspiracy theorist connect-the-dots crapola to me. Need some explanation here, or I'll delete in 5 days.  MortonDevonshire  Yo  · 17:37, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Biased?

[edit]

This article as it stands no contains no information on the conspiracy theories that link Charles Burlingame to a 9/11 plot. More than 50% of the "Sept. 11 Attacks" section of the article is, in fact, composed of emotional quotes about conspiracy theorists by Burlingame's family. These quotes are about as relevant to fact as the conspiracy theories themselves, and in the absence of something to balance them, they lend the appearance of bias to this entry.

Whether true or not, the conspiracy theories are an important part of where Charles Burlingame stands in world (and military) history. Conspiracy theories have become an important part of 9/11 history in the same way that conspiracy theories became so important to the history of the Kennedy assassination. Conspiracy theories regarding Burlingame should be at least briefly mentioned or outlined. Especially if space is going to be devoted to rebutting them. Right?

Additionally, no useful factual details - such as flight and crash times, or things Burlingame said before the crash - are present in the "Sept. 11 Attacks" segment. Someone please pad this out.

I just deleted a section from the main page which is factually inaccurate. the part deleted was the part about working in the pentagon the previous year working on terrorist attacks. This statement is completely fabricated by someone based on the outright lies in the conspiracy theory movie Loose Change. Burlingame retired from the military in 1996 and had not worked in the pentagon for 5 years prior to the attacks. 86.96.226.14 (talk) 18:41, 11 January 2009 http://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/cfburling3.htm states he retired in 1996. the section I deleted was a slander and a lie about this man.86.96.226.14 (talk) 18:45, 11 January 2009 (UTC)(UTC)[reply]

Very Odd

[edit]

Why is WIKI using a picture of Captain Burlingame's tombstone instead of a picture of Burlingame himself? This is very odd and profoundly disturbing. Other biographies of people who have passed away use their photographs, not photographs of their tombstones. Surely there must be a picture of Captain Burlingame somewhere that could be used.

I also would strongly disagree with the statement that "conspiracy theories are a part of history." They are NOT a part of history; a conspiracy theory is just that: a conspiracy theory.Tpkatsa (talk) 21:02, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
