Dad's Army[edit]

"Charles Godfrey" was the name of the character played by Arnold Ridley in Dad's Army. Presumably, the writers, Perry and Croft, and/or Ridley, may have known of the real life music hall entertainer's name, and used it. Does anyone have a source to that effect? Any relation to bandmaster and composer Charles Godfrey?[edit]

I have found another Charles Godfrey who was a bandmaster, (band leader of the Crystal Palace Military Band?), composer (his Braganza waltz was published before or by August 5, 1892) and arranger. Is there any connection between these two people? - Thanks RandomEditorAAA (talk) 22:32, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
