Disappeared?[edit]

What does this mean? Does it simply mean he retired from public life and avoided the limelight? Or does it mean he went missing and hasn't been seen or heard of since 1931? If the former, "disappeared" is a somewhat ambiguous term. If the latter, there should be some material about his disappearance that we should report.
