NavBar[edit]

I added the navbar for USAF CoS... Could not find one for previous command Pacific Air Forces...(might build it someday). Techncially, he will not be the Actual CoS until Aug 8, 2020...just FYI. Also, added Talk Banners relative to other CoS office holders. Mjquinn_id (talk) 17:51, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect statement?[edit]

The lead contains this sentence: 'He is the first African-American to be appointed as Chief of Staff and the first African-American to lead any branch of the United States Armed Forces.' Is this incorrect? Colin Powell served as Chairman of the Chiefs-of-Staff from 1989 to 1993.

CJCS isn’t a service chief, so it’s still accurate.Garuda28 (talk) 02:41, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You are correct that he is the SECOND African American behind Colin Powell to be appointed as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He was the first African American to lead any of the U.S. military branches and to be one of the Chiefs of Staff (but not the first African American to be appointed as the Chairman). That part of who did what first regarding Brown or Powell was a little confusing to parse out.

Nomination for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff[edit]

Considering the swift and unanimous confirmation to Air Force CoS after nomination in 2020, should there be an explanation on the 5 month delay in nomination to confirmation in CJCS Kitokitob (talk) 04:14, 21 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
