I just added some info but did not have time to do justice to the man's life. The article currently ends abruptly with his arrival in China, but there is much more to his life--some of it quite interesting--such as his being betrayed by John Meares. The ABCBookWorld page about his wife, BARKLEY, Frances, has a lot of info. She deserves her own page too--the first woman to visit British Columbia, the first to write about it, and the first to "openly as a woman" circumnavigate the world. Her memoirs entitled Reminiscences were published within The Remarkable World of Frances Barkley 1769–1845, edited by Beth Hill (Gray’s, 1978)--perhaps a source worth finding. Anyway, I have to go for now, but wanted to leave this note. This page should be expanded. Pfly (talk) 23:03, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
