General problems

[edit]

If it has changed its name to "Chartered Governance Institute", the page should surely be moved? I ended up here after trying to find out who cgi.org.uk are: confused them with "CGI", which is a Canadian company whose field is something like "organising doing things", which to me is infinitely confusable with what the CGI of this page does, except for a possible extra level or three of indirection. (I have a degree in mathematics from Cambridge, but I cannot understand this article at all. I am reminded of the old saying that if you know Fortran you can learn Lisp in three weeks, but if you do not know Fortran you can learn Lisp in two weeks.) For a start, what is a "governance professional"? WP does not have an article with this title: so someone who specialises in the field of making sure that other people are doing their jobs properly, or something like that? The article is flagged as advertising, which is fair enough... but I have no idea where to start. Sorry. Imaginatorium (talk) 07:04, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

{{reftalk} Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Zimbabwe have changed its name to The Chartered Governance and Accounting Institute in Zimbabwe. It is a member of The Chartered Governance Institute Global and in 2020 it joined the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) to become the second professional accountancy body to be a member of IFAC after the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ). It is also a principal constituent member of the Public Accountants and Auditors Board in Zimbabwe and the Pan African Federation of Accountants. It is the second largest professional accountancy body after Institute of Chartered Accountants in Zimbabwe in terms of membership. Its members are employed in the private sector, governmemt and non profit organization as accountants, managers, administrators, risk managers, internal auditors and other governance roles.

Not done for now: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y". Also, please use the format provided to organize your edit request to make it easier for reviewers to implement. Thanks. RFZYNSPY talk 05:57, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am conflicted from editing the article as I am an employee of the Institute.

The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators had its name changed by Royal Charter on 16 September 2019 to The Chartered Governance Institute. The title of the article should therefore be changed.

Thanks for the response, but the title of the article and the Institute's logo still seem to be unchanged. 89.197.178.116 (talk) 18:53, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
