Merge

[edit]

I think this article should be merged into Chasam Sofer, after shortening it a little. Debresser (talk) 00:18, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article was created yesterday precisely because all the data could no longer fit into the Moses Sofer article. Brutalhovno (talk) 17:09, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, in my opinion, that was a bad idea. That article is not too long, and this content belongs there (especially since this article might need some pruning. Debresser (talk) 18:09, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Opinions aside, the Chatam Sofer Memorial is a notable structure with media coverage. Moreover,
  • history of the structure is an important part of the History of Slovakia, History of Bratislava and the History of the Jews in Slovakia
  • it is an important Jewish heritage site in Slovakia
  • it is an important tourist attraction in Bratislava
  • while not in itself an argument, it is noteworthy that there are multiple versions of this article in different language mutations

When it comes to merging, I cannot see how it would be possible to write about the Old Jewish Cemetery (Bratislava) in the Moses Sofer article. One is an encyclopedic entry about a person, the other is about a structure. When it comes to length, this article is start-level at best, so I would envision it to grow multiple times. (There is still important data missing, especially the background of the monument's construction) Brutalhovno (talk) 19:03, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have convinced me. Debresser (talk) 21:27, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I agree that all the content specific to Moses Sofer should be incorporated into that article with everything else in this article, so that there is absolutely no confusion. I will see what I can do. Brutalhovno (talk) 11:40, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
