Map of battle incorrect

The map of Grant's attack seems to be mislabeled, specifically with regards to the division commanders. According to the account in Foote's Civil War v.2, what's on this map is very nearly backwards.

Cleburn's correct at the North of the line, but beginning with Stevenson none of the others are. He should be over from the base of Lookout Mountain running East to Chattanooga Creek. To his right belongs Walker in the valley South of town, and the ridge ought to be (North to South) Anderson, Bate, Stewart, and Cheatham who is to the right of Walker.

Hardee has Stevenson, Walker and Cheatham while Breckinridge commands Stewart, Bate, and Anderson.

Granted this is the position before Stevenson and Walker pulled East, but it seems unlikely the divisions would all swap positions to appear the way they do on the map.

Maybe Foote had it all wrong, I can't say because I'm no expert and I don't know what source the map author used. Looks like a simple mistake to me, though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.30.21.53 (talk) 13:25, 8 May 2014 (UTC)

I have forgotten specifically what source I used when I drew this map, but I rechecked it against a few sources today and the Confederate divisions are in the correct order. The map in Foote's book is considerably simpler than this one, so perhaps he took some liberties with the movements from west to east and got mixed up. Hal Jespersen (talk) 15:14, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
