Low literary quality and advertisement

[edit]

This page lacks literary quality, and some entries in this article seems to advertisement. I propose to include only notable person's name or those people who have already existing pages in Wikipedia. --Tito Dutta (Talk) 07:29, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I concur and have removed all those who do not have a Wikipedia article. JohnCD (talk) 09:44, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Again, some confusing entries have been included. Who is this Biswarup Chatterjee? Google search is not giving any result! --Tito Dutta (Send me a message) 02:04, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Too much information removed

[edit]

Much of the important information initially provided in this article has been removed, and not replaced with something of superior quality. I agree that the quality of this article was not up to the mark, but that doesn't necessarily require the removal of historical data and information. As such, I propose we continue to provide materials for this page, and discuss the issue.

The Chatterjees form the highest tier of Bengali Brahmin castes, alongside Mukherjees and Banerjees. So, for sake of history of Bengal and India as a whole, we need to develop this article. With all due respect, I don't understand the 'proposal' made by Tito Dutta above. Anirban Chatterjee (talk) 19:02, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal

[edit]

The article Chatterji should be merged with this article for obvious reaspns. Chatterji is a less popular variation of Chatterjee. BengaliHindu (talk) 19:50, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicates

[edit]

Is it really necessary to have all these duplicate entries with one version spelt Chatterjee and the other spelt Chattarji? The Chattarji links all seem to redirect to the corresponding Chatterjee page. 71.233.90.196 (talk) 22:27, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Gadadhar Chattopadhyay

[edit]

The link redirects to Ramakrishna but the name Gadadhar Chattopadhyay is not mentioned at all in that article. I have no idea what to make of the situation. Lordgilman (talk) 18:23, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Lordgilman: Apparently his birthname was Gadadhar Chattopadhyay, but it was possibly changed after a discussion in that article's talk page. The current version has Ramakrishna Chattopadhyay as his birth name. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:13, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
