False movie references removed

[edit]

I've removed all mentions to Hollywood movies shot on the river, since no references were cited and those that were cited included no information in regards to what was stated. The mentioned movies (Rambo, Apocalypse Now, Jurassic Park) were not shot on or near the river, or even in the country, as can be seen by their imdb pages. Somebody must have made a joke or purposefully stated a falsehood. --The Singularity (talk) 00:19, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Chavón As An Expletive In Puerto Rico

[edit]

I've wondered about this but never heard anyone say anything about it. That is, anyone who is from Puerto Rico knows that the word chavón means a person who is an annoying pain in the butt. It's used as an expletive. The Dominicans know this too. Yet, somehow no one ever brings it up. It's a deafening silence, if you will. I would appreciate any comments from those in the know for my informal linguistic research on this question. It seems that it colors the reception of place names like Altos de Chavón, Río Chavón, etc. No offense is intended with this query.Godofredo29 (talk) 16:04, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
