Referencing and notability[edit]

The assertion "Today she is a frequent performer with the Pittsburgh Symphony and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra" needs references that appear in reliable third-party publications. Primary sources or sources affiliated with the subject, e.g. her official web site, are generally not sufficient for a Wikipedia article. The only other reference is a review of one performance as a soloist in a choral work conducted by Daniel Barenboim. The subject is notable but this article needs not only more content, but more citations from reliable sources, e.g., [1] to demonstrate this. Voceditenore (talk) 07:19, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem removed[edit]

Prior content in this article duplicated one or more previously published sources. The material was copied from: http://www.pittsburghsymphony.org/pghsymph.nsf/bios/Chen+Reiss. Infringing material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use copyrighted publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences or phrases. Accordingly, the material may be rewritten, but only if it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. Voceditenore (talk) 17:31, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Note also that even if permission is given, material from an artist's or organization's official web site is almost invariably promotional to some degree (as was the case here) and will require significant editing to achieve a neutral, encylopedic tone.
