Engine Description

In the first generation section this is stated...

"The Vortec is essentially the standard Z code 262 in³ engine. The difference is the W code used a balance shaft, roller cam shaft, different heads, and Central Port Injection."

However, I own a 1993 S-10 with engine code Z and it has a balance shaft and a roller cam shaft. If anyone else can verify this, I think it should be changed.

Secondary Airtank

Where is the secondary airtank situated of a pick-up s-10? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.212.127.145 (talk) 02:23, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Just behind the muffler bearing.--Flash176 (talk) 04:30, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
You're thinking of the Fetzer valve. Asher196 (talk) 04:35, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Article transfer

Firstly, the Sonoma GT article should be heavily reworked. If this were done, there would be no need to merge the articles. Secondly, the talk inputs on this page are incorrectly placed, and signing needs to be done - otherwise any talk of something serious like a merging article is somewhat illegitimate.

Overall: there is no dire need to merge the articles. The two trucks are different in their respective rights, highly similar, but merging is unnecessary for so different a vehicle. Using the model of another article is inappropriate since it was actually accurately and properly edited. C.J. (talk) 17:26, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

I agree that these is no need to merge these two articles. Though they are similar in some respects, they are different enough to warrant two articles. Merging these two articles would set a precedent that would see, in theory, all different models based on the same platfom merged together, such as the Mercury Grand Marquis and the Ford Crown Victoria. I do not believe that this would be the best road to take, as it will decrease the amount of coverage provided by Wikipedia on certain cars, and that is not a good thing.SAWGunner89 (talk) 13:06, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

I still don't see the need for the Sonoma GT to have its own article. I can't believe that anyone other than, oh, GMC Sonoma GT owners would need this much detail of information. Seriously, number produced by paint color?! How many other Wikipedia articles have this information? I see the amount of unique, useful information about this Sonoma variant able to be edited into one single paragraph. --Vossanova o< 14:43, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

The Sonoma GT article is horrifyingly awful. I'm going to strip all the fanboy junk out of it and see what's left. I support a merge.
To C.J. and SAWGunner, that's not really a viable argument in this case because GMC Sonoma already redirects here. --Sable232 (talk) 18:49, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
I thought the Sonoma GT article was viable on its own due to the "detail of information". There was too much info on that page to merge it with the already cluttered s10/sonoma page. Now that the sonoma GT page has been condesensed, it could be merged if the s10/sonoma page was neatened up some. (MottleyChris (talk) 17:39, 2 January 2010 (UTC))

Diesel Engine option details?

I came to this page in search of info on this incredible option which I just learned was available in the LUV and subsequent S-10.However there is no info except that it was available '83-85. I saw a different source that said the Diesel got 44MPG Hwy ! Why isn't there mention of this incredible fact (if true)? What was performance like? Why on earth was it discontinued or unsuccessful? How many were made ? Was it a dog ? Did it break down too much? Was there a problem with diesel availability ? Please,if you know about this, add your info ! 76.166.245.241 (talk) 16:55, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Because it's not true. The EPA rated the '85 model at 36 MPG highway, the '84 at 35. --Sable232 (talk) 04:20, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

WEIGHTS!!!

Way too many of these vehicle pages lack curb weights. It should be mandatory. The page should be disabled if there are no weights. 85.83.19.103 (talk) 11:50, 20 March 2013 (UTC)Dan Frederiksen

Feel free to add it yourself.--Asher196 (talk) 16:06, 20 March 2013 (UTC)

S10 Xtreme

Why no mention of the Xtreme package or ZQ8 options? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.28.36.179 (talk) 02:21, 7 December 2013 (UTC)
