This information is completely wrong. Nothing indicated above is true. The person submitting this page has no knowledge of Navy ranks and/or ratings. F. G. SYKES US NAVY (Retired)

You do know that this is about the Canadian Navy, right? Information here is completely accurate. DP.

The only error in this article is that the Base CPO, Fleet CPO,and Formation CPO now all use the same rank insignia (The Coat of Arms above the Canadian Forces insignia). This is the common insignia for all Canadian Forces Senior Appointments with the exception of Command CPO1/CWO and the Canadian Forces CWO which are correctly described.

request to rename this article

[edit]

I want to rename this article to Chief petty officer, 1st class (Canada). the reason for this is simple; there are a large number of countries that have this same rank, in one or more branches of their military.

this change is actually uncontroversial; because right now, it is misleading for this article to point to the rank for only one country, rather than a group of countries.

I will allow some time for others to comment; I hope to gain consensus, and then to proceed with this rename for this article. thanks. --Sm8900 (talk) 18:44, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
