Article needs major expansion[edit]

This article is a good start, but it surely needs more expansion, as there's a two thousand-year gap between Parthia and modern Iran. Extensive and friendly relations existed between the Tang Dynasty and the Sassanid Empire. In fact, after the fall of the Sassanids to the Arabs, the last Shah, Pirooz, fled to China, which was a friendly country. There's also the extensive trade networks and the east-west transfer of people that occured under Mongol rule of both China and Persia, and later one, I believe the founding emperor of the Ming, Zhu Yuanzhang was part of a religious sect heavily influenced by Zoroastrianism and Manichaeism. --Yuje 01:34, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Heck theres not even a section on the Silk Road.--Zereshk 04:09, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also can we just call it "China-Iran relations"? China wasn't a People's Republic until 1949, and the articles here go back to the Sassinid period and beyond. 147.9.238.235 (talk) 23:15, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I also notice, that you can't use pinyi , as Mandarin (正音書院, Zhèngyīn Shūyuàn) was invented during later Chinese dynasty later Pinyin was consolidation of Mandarin from 1728 on onward. I would think Persian Farsi language influenced early Chinese languages, such as Fujian or Cantonese dialects. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Josephinnyc (talkcontribs) 20:37, 30 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:China-Iran Stamp.JPG[edit]

Why is this PRC instead of China?[edit]

This article should be "China-Iran relations" not modern PRC-Iran relations because it includes many events that took place long before the PRC was even established. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.234.199.32 (talk) 22:41, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good question, this articles talks about the history of contact and exchanges between the Chinese and Persian cultures before the PRC and IRoI existed. Sometime ago, this article was moved from Sino-Persian relations to here. Perhaps a move back should be considered. Comments anyone? -- Sjschen (talk) 16:31, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

People's Republic of China – Iran relationsSino-Persian relations — This article is not just about the relations between the current governments of China and Iran but extend back to dynastic times of both cultures. PRC and Iran relations deserve its own article. -- Sjschen (talk) 02:26, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support: but there is not enough content for a separate article for the modern-day states. PRC and Islamic Republic relations can stay in the Sino-Persian article, just as PRC and Republic of India relations remain in the Sino-Indian relations article. • Why not Sino-Iranian relations? It makes more sense to me to use the current name. Ucucha 20:45, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with File:QizilDonors.jpg[edit]

Hallo, I recognized that the data which was given to this picture is based on wrong information:

  • 1.:The term "Sassanian style" was used in the wrong context.

What have been described is the wrong picture. The right one is Fig.1 on page 8 in this document: http://www.sino-platonic.org/complete/spp084_mummies_central_asia.pdf

The "Tocharian" Colour Plate on page 9 is not fiting to the description of Fig.1. So, the description is wrong. We need a correction of the information given in this document. I've informed the User Per_Honor_et_Gloria about this problem.

China's alliance with the Shah of Iran against the Soviet Union[edit]

China and Shah ruled Iran allied together to counter the Soviet Union. The Shah was impressed by China's victory over India in the 1962 Sino-Indian war and China's development of nuclear weapons.

China and the Shah's alliance was close and based on an anti Soviet ideology, so when the Islamic Revolution happened China was concerned, but the new Islamic Republic of Iran was also anti Soviet as well so China continued relations.

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page[edit]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:
