Shanghai Club Team vs National Team[edit]

In fact, the team played against Scotland was a women's team of Shanghai Cricket Club. [1]

The real international debut of Chinese national women's team should be the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) women's tournament which was hold in July 2007, or the two games they played against Hong Kong team days before. [2] [3] ---koyn 08:39, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Scroll down a little more on the Cricket Scotland article! Andrew nixon 10:13, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I was there on the pitch. The Chinese team was made up of club members and university students, including the national team skipper Mei Chun Hua. The coach for them was Mike Tsesmelis who is also the captain of the club. The coach of the national team is Rashid Khan [4]. ---koyn 02:36, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
On both days? The article clearly states: "The pinnacle of the day was the inaugural match between China Ladies and Scotland Ladies." Andrew nixon 05:47, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid yes. The article doesn't mention any words of "Chinese National Team". I am sure that the team has no Chinese official background. Haven't you read the cricinfo reports I cited? ---koyn 06:18, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I have read them. They're wrong. China's first international was the Sixes match against Scotland, as is quite clear in the first report you linked too. I quote:

  • "Scotland takes on China!"
  • "The pinnacle of the day was the inaugural match between China Ladies and Scotland Ladies."

The match was between China and Scotland, as the reference clearly indicates. Andrew nixon 06:48, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I also quote from the report on the official site on the Asian Sixes tour: "The highlight of the day was however, the feature match between the Scottish and Chinese Ladies teams." and "For the Chinese Ladies it was a learning experience".[5] Clearly it was a Chinese representative team playing, as all reports except the cricinfo report on a match played at a later date, which got much of its information from an ICC press-release that featured a few errors in the first place. Well, I quote from it as well, "By no means in the shadow we were lucky to secure the Scottish Ladies National Cricket team to play against the fellows (note Gentlemen wasn’t used) and a game against the Chinese Ladies team (consisting entirely of Chinese players)", see any "National" between "Chinese Ladies team"? and if they were the national team, officially of China, why it still follows "consisting entirely of Chinese players"? For the GFW's sake, if you do trust what captain Collins said, I'd like to ask him and one girl I know who was in the team whether it was a national representative. ---koyn 09:26, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
