1935 Gauge change[edit]

The article notes that a gauge change across hundreds of miles of track occurred in four hours in 1935 when management shifted from Russia. This statement strains credulity. A gauge change of this magnitude and extent would take days/weeks, if not months.Moryak (talk) 16:31, 9 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

This article should be carefully merged with Manchurian Railway per the author of same, with a redirect from that to here. This needs TLC, so I'm counting on you, otherwise I'll get to it sometime toward the later part of month after this date. Call it circa mid-July. I've other more important projects underweigh just now. [[User:Fabartus| User:fabartus || TalktoMe]] 22:28, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Cleanup[edit]

I've added a cleanup tag because the article seems quite uneven from one section to the next. Perhaps the merger with the Manchurian Railway article was a little too careful? Specifically, the Manchurian Railway section is of far lower quality than the first few sections and probably deserves a rewrite. roncerito 00:50, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Gauge[edit]

IIRC, the gauge of this line was originally

1,524 mm (5 ft) to match the Russian railway lines at either end. When it became part of the chinese railways, the gauge was changed to 1,435 mm (4 ft 8+12 in).
