Currently the article Chinese intelligence activity abroad has a few lines about the topic Zhenhua Data leak. Should the entire topic be merged into Chinese intelligence activity abroad or should Zhenhua Data leak or Zhenhua Data have a standalone page as well. DTM (talk) 07:05, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

As of now, there are no reliable sources linking the company directly to government intelligence activity abroad. The data from the leak might have been used to assist commercial parties seeking to influence foreign officials as well for example, so it cannot be claimed that the leak is falls entirely under government surveillance.

• "Although there is no evidence showing that the OKIDB software is currently being used by the Chinese government, Zhenhua’s marketing and recruiting documents characterize the company as a patriotic firm, with the military as its primary target customer."
• "Shenzhen-based technology firm Zhenhua Data has said it was privately owned and its partners did not have any background in the Chinese military or the Chinese government, and that its operation was not illegal or unreasonable. (...) The Indian Express had reported the firm’s clients included government and Chinese military, as claimed by the firm itself in its website. The reports over the last two days did not state that the owners/ partners have military/ government background."
• Even a highly biased source, ASPI, sees Zhenhua as “ just one of a number of Chinese entities collecting and analysing masses of global data, with the intention of assisting the Chinese government in its political warfare and united front work”

Going by this the article can remain as a stand-alone article. No need carrying on with this merge as far as I can tell. DTM (talk) 10:13, 19 September 2020 (UTC)
