Untitled

[edit]

what is the difference between Chlorophyll a and b?

Chlorophyll a has a methyl group in a site where chlorophyll b has a carbonyl. DS (talk) 23:48, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rename the page

[edit]

Can we rename the page to Magnesium(2+) ion (3R,21S,22S)-16-ethenyl-11-ethyl-3-(methoxycarbonyl)-12,17,21,26-tetramethyl-4-oxo-22-(3-oxo-3-{[(2E,7R,11R)-3,7,11,15-tetramethylhexadec-2-en-1-yl]oxy}propyl)-7,23,24,25-tetraazahexacyclo[18.2.1.1^{5,8}.1^{10,13}.1^{15,18}.0^{2,6}]hexacosa-1,5(26),6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20(23)-decaen-25-ide?
—UNSIGNED COMMENT

Who on earth would know that Chlorophyll a really is magnesium(2+) ion (3R,21S,22S)-16-ethenyl-11-ethyl-3-(methoxycarbonyl)-12,17,21,26-tetramethyl-4-oxo-22-(3-oxo-3-{[(2E,7R,11R)-3,7,11,15-tetramethylhexadec-2-en-1-yl]oxy}propyl)-7,23,24,25-tetraazahexacyclo[18.2.1.1^{5,8}.1^{10,13}.1^{15,18}.0^{2,6}]hexacosa-1,5(26),6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20(23)-decaen-25-ide? --69.111.215.41 (talk) 21:20, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed! Article titles generally follow the most commonly used name. However, alternative names can be implemented as redirects.

Spectrum Data

[edit]

I don't see any wavelength data on the image (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Chlorofilab.png); not sure I believe my eyes. It looks to me like it's shifted, maybe even the wrong size altogether. Isn't there a more useful image somewhere? There are so many out there! Which one is correct??

Medicinal applications section

[edit]

In this series of recent edits, IHoversten, a student editor, has added a section Chlorophyll a#Medicinal Applications which I believe does not meet the standards of sourcing required for medical claims (see WP:MEDRS). Some of the additions may be valid but I'd like to start a discussion here so that we can reach a consensus as to what should be retained. Pinging Yarbr056 who I believe is peer-reviewing this work. Mike Turnbull (talk) 22:10, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The material has been removed by this diff as probably WP:UNDUE as well as the WP:MEDRS concerns. Mike Turnbull (talk) 15:54, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
