Article assessment

[edit]

I have reassessed the article and I believe it meets the B criteria. The main failing of the article is complete lack of inline citations and this issue was result in a quick fail in a Good Article nomination. There are a few other areas of weakness. In some parts of the article, subheadings only have one or two sentences of information. These should either be fleshed out or merged into other parts of the article as best as possible. There is some redundancy in the language which could do with a copyedit. For example, "Cholesbury at only 178 acres". Finally, there are a few violations of guidelines:

  • WP:MOSNUM says you should write distance is moth metric and imperial so you would write 5 miles (8.0 km) instead of just 5 miles. The use of the {{convert}} template here is very useful and ensures this string doesn't break lines (also part of WP:MOSNUM.
  • WP:DATE - at times years are linked in isolation and I found an example where a date/month combination was not linked. These should be linked if they include the date and month for user preference
  • WP:MOSLINK - articles should be linked to only once per page or section, and that should be the first time.

It could perhaps benefit from a from a few more photos, to break up the text a bit. With this in mind, it's a great little article for such a small place. Keep up the good work! SeveroTC 00:20, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
