Glory Daze

I thought the stoner on Glory Daze was Joe Manganiello from True Blood. ??? 70.44.54.5 (talk) 17:33, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

TV Appearances?

Do television guest appearances count on talk shows or game shows like @midnight (2016-07-20 is the latest). ~ JasonCarswell (talk) 21:15, 26 July 2016 (UTC)

Chris' wife and personal life - section

So as you all know, Chris got married last year to his wife Kristin Taylor and they had a son this year. He talked about it on the podcast for an example.

Pictures of them can be seen on her instagram and they have been seen to movie premieres such at the "Sicario" screening.

Can someone please add this to his page since his "spouse" on this page still is Emily, whom he doesn't have contact with AT ALL anymore? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.182.136.119 (talk) 19:16, 14 March 2020 (UTC)

I think the reason is that we "all" don't know? As with all BLP's, if there is no reference it cannot be included. The article does not state that he is still married to Montague, and in fact states in two locations that he is divorced. Primefac (talk) 14:48, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

Please avoid using words such as "recently" and "currently" in Wikipedia articles. Please read WP:RELTIME. -- 109.78.196.233 (talk) 14:41, 23 April 2020 (UTC)

For example instead of "Recently, he starred as Henderson in the Netflix thriller series You." the article should read something like "In 2018, he was cast in the Netflix thriller series You." or "In 2019 he starred as Henderson in the Netflix thriller series You."
Writing for an encyclopedia is different than writing for other sources, that is why it is important to avoid vague time words, again please read WP:RELTIME and fix the article because it is currently locked preventing me from fixing this obvious error. -- 109.78.196.233 (talk) 18:36, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
Done. Didn't see the first post until just now, but feel free to suggest other changes like that. Primefac (talk) 17:32, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
It is a minor problem that happens frequently in Wikipedia. It not quite as bad as editors using the word "however" for no reason but it is pretty bad.
This article seems pretty good otherwise, although personally (and because this is supposed to be an encyclopedia) I'd avoid the unnecessary abbreviation and instead of "improv" I would write "improvisation". -- 109.76.200.15 (talk) 03:52, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

FYI, the edit request you fulfilled was a troll making a reference to the fact that the character in the show is a predator and that D'Elia has been accused of being a predator. I went ahead and removed the error. Cerebral726 (talk) 12:21, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

CHANGE

In June 2020, D'Elia was accused of sexual harassment, grooming, and solicitation of nude photos by multiple underage girls.[30] D'Elia responded to the allegations, apologizing for what he characterized as mistakes but saying he "never knowingly pursued any underage women at any point."[31]

TO (exact quote from Chris, remove inferences)

In June 2020, D'Elia was accused of sexual harassment, grooming, and solicitation of nude photos by multiple underage girls.[30] D'Elia responded to the allegations stating: "I know I have said and done things that might have offended people during my career, but I have never knowingly pursued any underage women at any point." Chris goes on to say, "All of my relationships have been both legal and consensual and I have never met or exchanged any inappropriate photos with the people who have tweeted about me." https://www.tmz.com/2020/06/17/chris-delia-responds-sexual-misconduct-allegations-minors-underage-girls/ 101.164.201.45 (talk) 12:55, 21 June 2020 (UTC)

Not done: The paraphrase seems valid, and there's no reason to copy every quote verbatim. Also, use better sources than TMZ, especially for this kind of thing RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 13:35, 21 June 2020 (UTC)

CHANGE "He has had three subsequent comedy specials: Incorrigible (2015), Man On Fire (2017) and No Pain (2020), all of which aired on Netflix. All four were directed by his father."

This is only partially true. His last special, No Pain, was directed by his brother, Matt D'Elia.

This is verified at the end of the actual special (@~53:40) (Netflix source: https://www.netflix.com/title/81036229?s=a&trkid=13747225&t=cp), as well as from Chris D'Elia himself on his podcast (@~1:10) (YouTube source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3Iq677pGbM&feature=youtu.be&t=70&ab_channel=ChrisD%27Elia).

EDIT/UPDATE: IMDb source (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11987296/) 2601:501:100:CE60:91F8:C1FE:8598:9DD2 (talk) 00:53, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

We cannot use IMDb as source directly on Wikipedia. Find another source please. Thanks. – robertsky (talk) 12:16, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

"We need something that isn't just 'watch the video to verify.'" But one of the references in the original sentence (reference 13) is a video? Why is the incorrect sentence allowed to have a video source, but my edit isn't? -- 2601:501:100:CE60:69C9:262D:5C94:D7A5 (talk) 00:36, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

On using video as a source, it is discouraged by some and it's probably due to the facts that videos archiving is abysmal; it is faster to parse through text than video; not everyone has Netflix; the video might be geographically locked. On IMDB, it is explicitly a no-no to use IMDb on wikipedia as a reference (except for an exception which does not seem to apply here), see WP:ELP for details. – robertsky (talk) 03:11, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

Ok, that all makes sense. I should not have cited IMDb. One more thing: in the sentence I'm trying to change ("All four were directed by his father."), it has 2 references -- 1 and 13. Reference 13 is a video which, as you say, is discouraged. Reference 1 I'm assuming is referring to the part in the article which says, quoting D'Elia, "He’s directed my last three stand-up specials." Three, not four. Which, in my opinion, would make that a bad reference. -- 2601:501:100:CE60:69C9:262D:5C94:D7A5 (talk) 06:58, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

Allegations

"This led to the exchange of more than 100 sexually explicit photos and videos via Snapchat in a period of six or seven months in 2014 and 2015, half of which were of the woman while she was 17 years old." I believe the wording of this needs to be changed. It makes it seem that he did in fact do these things when here it says, "Comedian Chris D’Elia is facing a new lawsuit that accuses him of violating federal child pornography and child sexual exploitation laws, including soliciting more than 100 sexually explicit photos and videos from a woman identified as 'Jane Doe.'" here. The "including" part extends the accusation to "soliciting more than 100 sexually explicit photos and videos from a woman identified as 'Jane Doe.'" LucasA04 (talk) 15:40, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
