Dubious synthesis

I've removed the "Clothing begets violence" section, as there don't seem to be any reliable sources for its basic thesis.

The Time Magazine quote confirms that the Nazis suppressed nudism, and the thesis confirms that modern naturism began in Germany; these aren't contentious, but they don't say anything about Christian interpretations of these facts. That seems to come entirely from the third source, which is a personal essay attempting to synthesise something from "dictatorships often banned nudism" and "dictatorships often committed genocide". It feels like cherrypicking of examples in support of a personal thesis, and it doesn't cite any scholarly studies or secondary discussion of the topic. Global Ideas Bank, the site that carries it, is entirely self-published and doesn't exert any peer review or significant editorial oversight on the materials it publishes.

Basically, this section - which confidently asserts "Some Christian naturists believe..." - doesn't actually have any basis for saying much more than "one guy on the internet has this theory that...". It's an interesting thesis, but we'd need some evidence it's held by a non-trivial amount of people and that they explicitly link it to a "Christian naturist" movement or philosophy. Substantial editing needed

This article needs a rewrite. There are many many places where it is obvious that one editor is offering their opinion, and there is no general consensus about what is claimed by others. With the lack of citations for too much material, it seems more like an essay in places.·

I did a couple minor copyedits, but much more work needs to be done, and it is best done by people more familiar with the topic who can find and include citations. Atom (talk) 16:32, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

Mormonism section

This section is a poor attempt at WP:OR via synthesis; support for this miss-mash in supposedly coming from ldssdc.info, which itself is not a WP:RS, but instead is a self publish blog unabashedly advocating for "LDS" themed naturism. The whole section should be either re-written (provided truly reliable sources can be found) or it should be eliminated. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 23:19, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
