A colleague of mine, old enough to remember the Running Bishop, tells me he lost a leg in the war. Can we get a source on this beyond one man's memory? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.171.163.185 (talk) 15:58, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The ODNB article on C. Chavasse states: "In July 1939 Chavasse was nominated to the see of Rochester, but his consecration had to be delayed until St Mark's day, 25 April 1940, owing to injuries sustained in a boating accident, as a result of which he lost the use of a leg, which was amputated in 1942." St Peter's College

[edit]

Would anyone object to my revising the sentence about the foundation of the college? (Francis Chavasse did not found it in 1929 as he was dead at the time.) Tim riley (talk) 11:13, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

@Tim riley: Hi, I am glad to see you are still editing Wikipedia. I have reworded the offending sentence.TSventon (talk) 14:46, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
