Awesomenauts

[edit]

I believe Awesomenauts should be added to the list. It shares many traits with the "regular" ARTS-games like player-controller "heroes" battling it out, with computer-controlled creeps on lanes. The feature that separates it from other ARTS-games is the use of 2D. (85.165.243.90 (talk) 21:18, 22 July 2012 (UTC))[reply]

Non-notable Dota genre games may be added to the list .

[edit]

They may not have a wikipedia article about themselves but as long its factual and verifiable that they are early games based on the genre, then it should be added. --75.159.2.59 (talk) 21:12, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Examples to be added

[edit]

Bloodline Champions, standalone arena game Aeon of Strife, StarCraft:BW map Temple Siege, another SC:BW map WoW Arena -- debatable, similar gameplay style. 134.88.191.136 (talk) 04:51, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Other commercial MOBA games to include

[edit]

I don't know how to add them in the article in a way that is encyclopedic and not promotional, so I put them here for archive, hoping that someone more skilled than me (I'm not English speaking) will use this information in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.14.241.47 (talk)

How to add the new MOBA games

[edit]

Thanks for the contributions here, but there has been a decision made to avoid adding games which do not already have an article. --Izno (talk) 18:56, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

They will all have an article some day, I am adding the games here only for archive purposes. --87.15.64.200 (talk) 04:40, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Columns in table

[edit]

"Free to play" could be split into its own column, since most of the notes mention it. DuBistKomisch (talk) 08:31, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit war about three custom maps for Warcraft III

[edit]

There is currently an edit war about these three custom maps; the reliability of the sources has also been questioned. :) ·Salvidrim!·  14:21, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

None of them have notability (which is the key criterion for this list, so they shouldn't be included even if the sources were reliable), though I can vouch for ToB being in the genre. It was the only really-developed AoS other than DotA(-Allstars) that didn't simply use the base Warcraft III heroes, and it had a fairly unique map setup and some interesting balancing. --Izno (talk) 00:54, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I currently have nothing to add beyond my edit summaries and comments made to the other editor. The maps have no notability, and the sources that were added later on are not RS's.. I'm not sure they can rightly be called a source even, as it's just a download page. My initial basis for reverting was notability. -- ferret (talk) 02:23, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There was plenty of Aeon of Strife inspired map on Warcraft III and its expansion (Line Tower Wars, versions of AoS with three competing teams, Age of Myths and so on...), but only DotA has notability because by it success spreaded many of the commercial/free-to-play MOBA we se out these times. In my opinion a custom map for another videogame shouldn't considered a videogame itself, DotA is listed only because of its influence over the widespread success of the genre.--79.45.32.150 (talk) 18:32, 7 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So the editor has returned after a week and re-added the content. Due to my prior involvement, I'm not going to undo it myself, however, all the same reasons apply as before, it should be reverted. -- ferret (talk) 21:06, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done, obviously. @Totric:, please make sure to read this discussion. :) ·Salvidrim!·  21:44, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

F2P conditions

[edit]

Some of these games require players to buy heroes, I think it would be fair to mention those in a specific column. Hervegirod (talk) 18:40, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Third Person MOBAs?

[edit]

I'm looking for third person MOBAs. The page lists only two as third person. I've heard Panzar is third person, is this true? Super Monday Night Combat is definitely third person and it's page says so. Are there any others? - 80.189.23.1 (talk) 00:15, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Supernova

[edit]

Could anyone please add Supernova? It's a MOBA by Bandai Namco that was shut down in its beta.--Adûnâi (talk) 16:39, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Adûnâi: It may (not) be notable, and presently does not have an article on Wikipedia. Maybe you should consider writing an article and then we shall see whether the article should be included. --Izno (talk) 16:56, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
