Eros

[edit]

Shouldnt it be mentioned that Eros Ramazotti was born here? YXYX 23:26, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Probably not; that would be relevant to his article's page. Girolamo Savonarola 23:39, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I dont know, most of Wikipedia articles on places mention superstars that were born in that place. If Eros shouldnt be mentioned, then no one else should be mentioned either.I agree not to mention local small time stars and all,but people like Eros should be mentioned. YXYX 06:12, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is just my opinion, but I believe that all instances should occur on the subject page, not the location page. Feel free to rectify the error across the Wikipedia if you choose! :) Girolamo Savonarola 13:14, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

lol What kind of Italiano you are if you dont like Eros ??? :) YXYX 02:36, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 21:21, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Incredible!!!

[edit]

Cinecittà is one of the most important filming sites in the history of cinema and here it seems to be worth a page just because it's been the venue for a ridiculous rubbish like the Euro Song Contest!!!

Some good information here on recent history if someone wants to incorporate it: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/13/movies/cinecitta-as-model-for-italian-cultural-institutions.html

Pronunciation

[edit]

Someone may want to add a pronuncation template to the lede. Bms4880 (talk) 18:44, 21 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. For several decades I have wondered if it is "CHEE-neh..." per Italian's usually wonderfully regular rules of pronunciation, or "SEE-neh..." because the element "cine" is, I believe, imported from the French "cinema". After turning expectantly to Wikipedia for the answer, my ignorance is still perfectly intact. An article lacking that basic information is severely defective. 66.81.241.102 (talk) 17:15, 2 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Omission cured by @IvanScrooge98 on 2 September 2015. Enlightened at last! Thanks! 66.249.174.17 (talk) 12:50, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I want to add a last thing concerning pronunciation: remember that foreign words that were ADAPTED or MODIFIED follow the Standard pronunciation in Italian (in this case, C pronounced // before I), with rare exeptions (e.g. joyciano is [dʒoisˈsjaːno] and not [joiˈtʃaːno]). Anyway, I'm glad I was helpful! イヴァンスクルージ九十八(会話) 16:03, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
