How many inhabitants are there in Hobart. Isn't that important enough not to avoid? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.120.2.236 (talk) 08:03, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Flag of Hobart

[edit]

User:Appleyton seems to think that the City of Hobart has an official flag. I however can find no official references of this; the council website only lists a CoA, and I can find no other information on it online. Could you provide a reference? Word of mouth that it might or might not be flying on the town hall is not a reliable reference for our purposes. JTdaleTalk~ 02:55, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

In response to user:JTdale, File:Flag of Hobart.png was modeled after the official city flag. The initial file was taken from the views of the flags flown atop the Hobart Town Hall and Hobart City Council buildings, and the Hobart City Shield, and was therefore not entirely accurate. I've since visited Town Hall to view a brand new flag in person, for the correct devices, dimensions, and construction of the flag. I've have uploaded a more accurate representation as File:Hobart_City_Flag.png. See the following files as photographic evidence of the flag. You can also call Hobart City Council or visit it in person. File:Hobart City Flag & Australian Flag.jpg File:Hobart City Flag in Hobart Town Hall.jpg -Appleyton 07:31, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for that information, and yes it probably is correct, but I'd still prefer a reference that it is official. I find it strange there are no sources on it online. JTdaleTalk~ 03:14, 1 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
