Possible changes/additions[edit]

There appears to be quite a Dublin based slant on the article such as the majority of Major Incidents listed being in Dublin, and the Vehicle photos being Dublin fleet. This article could potentially be improved by giving a broader view of Civil Defence throughout Ireland. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amcahill (talkcontribs) 10:53, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Following recent changes in Civil Defence in Ireland there are a number of items that could be added or amended on the page.

  • Firstly, there is the removal of the Civil Defence Board, reentry into the Department of Defence, and creation of the new Civil Defence Forum.
  • Secondly, it is my understanding that there is now an agreed upon national livery for vehicles, which is being rolled out, albeit slowly.
  • Finally, there has been a recent slight change to the rank structure. The Leader and Asst. Leader ranking markings have rotated to be in line with 1st, 2nd and 3rd officer rank markings. In addition there is an additional rank marking for Volunteers below Asst. Leader level with is a pale blue bar, in the same alignment as 1st, 2nd and 3rd officer rank markings and the altered Leader and Asst. Leader. Amcahill (talk) 13:28, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
