Clark A.A.

[edit]

CAA was established in May 1906 by employees of the Clark Mile End Spool Cotton Co., and Clark FNT and first took up baseball. After a successful baseball season CAA began playing the football season on September 3 winning 5-0 against Bronx Rangers. The team was managed by John C. Savage. They also took part in the American Cup. The team included several players from the champion West Hudsons. Libro0 (talk) 20:15, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I missed this when it was originally posted. I've done a little more research and it appears that Clark O.N.T. and Clark A.A. were two different teams. There were two different Clark Thread Companies in Newark, N.J. One was Clark Thread Company (which sponsored Clark O.N.T.) which was founded by J. and J. Clark Company of Paisley, Scotland. The other was Clark Mile-End Spool Cotton Company (which sponsored Clark A.A.) which was founded by the Clarks of Mile-End[1], Glasgow, Scotland.[2] Therefore, I've seperated the material into two articles, one for each team.
