"He ordered him to strip him naked, burn his clothes, and tie him to a stake, outside, so his loss of bowel control wouldn't soil the other prisoners."

[edit]

I love the way that whoever wrote this article presents stripping a guy naked and tying him to a wooden stake as if this was done primarily with the welfare of "other prisoners" in mind. This reads like quite a comical attempt to whitewash torture and murder. Funny though it is, I propose editing this article to remove the irrelevant/unsupported statements about what the war crimes convict may or may not have been thinking when he ordered the torture and humiliation of one of his prisoners. The only bit missing seems to be the ubiquitous claim that the victim beat himself up, while falling downstairs, and then tied himself naked to a wooden stake... 86.159.153.89 (talk) 09:39, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I reverted a magnification of Hatab's role in the ambush. The claim that Hatab lead the ambush is unreferenced. Hatab was arrested because he was trying to sell an M16 at the local bazaar, and the serial number on that M16 showed it had been issued to one of the GIs in the ambush.

Is this proof that Hatab lead the attack? Is this proof that Hatab was involved in the attack? We don't know. It is not our place to speculate.

If someone finds a reference that asserts Hatab lead the attack the claim can be re-asserted. Geo Swan (talk) 01:51, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
