Length

[edit]

Quite a short article, for a british comedian with a #1, surely? Ojw 19:11, 28 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Nonsense

[edit]

Because of callous reverts this article no longer makes sense - the paragraph starting 'In fact' only makes sense if the previous edit which included comments about Dunn's and Lowe's political beliefs is left in.

Incidentally, the rows between the actors are listed in Dad's Army, The Story of a Classic Television Show by Graham McCann ISBN 1841153095, and this should be added and the original edit reinstated 88.109.65.115 03:05, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pound bottle of wine

[edit]

I can believe cheap plonk may even now only cost a quid in Portugal (I've never seen such cheap alcohol as in the Iberian peninsula) but this has nothing to do with Clive Dunn, which is why I keep removing it from this article. What has cheap bottles of plonk to do with Dunn. Might as well say Jonhn Cleese now lives in the land of the cheap hamburger, SqueakBox 15:02, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, this might be hard to argue with. But I think it is worth pointing out the obvious differences between the UK and Portugal that might help explain why Mr Dunn chooses to live there rather than return to his Cockney routes. Gretnagod 02:10, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That paragraph could be interpreted as him living in Portugal with all the other Dad's Army cast mentioned. Perhaps the last two sentences should be in a new paragraph. --jmb (talk) 14:22, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removed My Old Man from lead

[edit]

The lead said Dunn was "... best known for his role as Lance-Corporal Jack Jones in the BBC sitcom Dad's Army, and Sam Cobbett in the Yorkshire Television sitcom My Old Man (1975)." I've removed the part about My Old Man to leave it saying he was "... best known for his role as Lance-Corporal Jack Jones in the BBC sitcom Dad's Army." because Dunn is surely best known by a very, very, long way for his Dad's Army role.--81.96.190.135 (talk) 10:52, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Death year 2012?

[edit]

Why does this article and every external link I've checked say his death year is 2012, when we all know it's this year 2016? --kathleen wright5 (talk) 10:44, 11 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because he died in 2012 so I am not sure why we would think differently. MilborneOne (talk) 20:09, 11 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
