History[edit]

Does anyone have any actual evidence that the rodeo started in 1945? I've lived there since 1944 and I'm pretty sure there was no rodeo until 1948. The fair was around long before '48, but no rodeo. - 205.193.82.252 18:34, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Citations=[edit]

I see no citation anywhere in this entire article except for one instance. And the only section tagged is the only one with the citation. Can someone explain the discrepancy? How are the editors assuming that all the other text without references are true? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elliemaejellybean (talkcontribs)

You are correct in that the entire article should be properly referenced; if you want, you are welcome to move the tag to the top of the page. As for the discrepancy, however, it is important to note that certain types of information have a more urgent need for proper references than others. "Controversy" sections, by their very nature, tend to accumulate information that can be damaging in nature to the subject. It is one thing to add the start date of the rodeo without a good reference - the organization probably won't be damaged by that. On the other hand, however, accusations of animal cruelty can do a lot of damage if untrue, and as such need to be well-supported by reliable third-party sources. Hope this helps. --Ckatzchatspy 20:22, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. However, the Cloverdale Rodeo actually admits that they inflict cruelty on animals and as a result removed half of all their events. This(dropping all roping events)is a huge deal and will change the 61 year old organization forever. Perhaps it should go under the History section?
You will still need sources, so the tag has been restored. Please don't remove it unless citations are provided. --Ckatzchatspy 07:15, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Cloverdalerodeo.jpg[edit]

Image:Cloverdalerodeo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

There's a live link that works, I replaced the archive. I will check back later to see if it's sporadic. dawnleelynn(talk) 19:34, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
