Neolog & Reform

[edit]

I'm wondering about the designation of this as a "reformed" synagogue. From what I know of the Hungarian "Neologs", while certainly not "Orthodox" they are very far from what is usually called Reform Judaism. In fact, as I understand it, they fall within Conservative Judaism, and on the side of that which is nearer to Orthodox than to Reform. Is there a basis for calling this the "Reformed" synagogue? - Jmabel | Talk 01:50, 19 December 2006 (UTC) Really it is a Neologue Synagogue and has no connexion with the Reform Judaism. Neologue Judaism in Hungary and Transylvania is closer to the Conservative Judaism. Recently the Neologue community in Hungary joined officially the Conservative Judaism. In fact one has to move this page to the Neologue Synagogue of Cluj.Cpt.schoener (talk) 00:24, 24 December 2008 (UTC) 89.0.199.125 (talk) 00:19, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
