Further reasons for nominating

[edit]

Besides being unreferenced, the one "Further Reading" book mentioned, according to the Amazon Look Inside, does not mention Clyde Boats at all, either by searching inside the book or by checking the index. Also, the primary contributor is under an CCI check. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 17:56, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think in this case he's probably writing it up from records still held by the family - see the last post here (although given his recent performance I'd like to see a birth certificate to confirm his claim that Rumney is his granpappy). I've declined your speedy - [1] and [2] and [3] and [4] suggests that the company and their products are well known among the small wooden boat community. --Elen of the Roads (talk) 20:14, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
All those links just talk about the Clyde boat the poster had recently obtained, rather than Clyde Boats in general. I checked the online index at http://www.woodenboat.com/wbmag/idx/index.html, and they've never covered them. Nothing at http://cwb.org/search/node/clyde, either. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 20:54, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Can't see it surviving an AfD in that case. Shame - you'd like to think Wikipedia could be a source for this kind of thing....but there needs to be some info out there! Elen of the Roads (talk) 21:03, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Google says there is a hit in this book but I can't find it. Rich Farmbrough, 18:01, 9 October 2011 (UTC).[reply]
the mention seems to have been noted and quoted by DreamFocus back at the afd.— alf.laylah.wa.laylah (talk) 18:09, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
