The article says, without references, that the coat of arms was has been in use since 1502. It's obviously true if we consider the "Spanish" branch of the coat of arms (that what settled down in San Roque). However, it's highly unlikely (not to say impossible) that the coat of arms were in use (in which terms?) in Gibraltar since 1713. Gibraltar was a simple "garrison" until 1830 (if I don't remember the date badly). The first self-governing institution (the City Council) was not established until 1921. So, who and in which terms used the coat of arms since 1713 to whenever it was recovered? --Ecemaml (talk) 22:16, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
