Jmichaelconway, please explain why you are making these changes to the article. Using File:Tuvalu Coat of Arms ("Crest").jpg in the infobox is inappropriate because the image also contains descriptive text that is very small and hard to read. Please also explain why you keep removing File:Flag of Tuvalu (state).svg. Fry1989 eh? 17:36, 18 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The changes have been made in the best interest of Tuvalu and historic accuracy. Information contained in the explanatory note ("Important note:", posted yesterday) should be self-explanatory and provide useful background information to readers.

The image contains the actual descriptive text for the Tuvalu Coat of Arms, as per the Escutcheon, for the purpose of authenticity. I will make this clear in the file. I will upload a second image of the Coat of Arms without the descriptive text.

There is not a separate "State Flag of Tuvalu" showing a crest - the real one or the inaccurate one depicted. There is only the national flag as shown. I will again update the file: Flag of Tuvalu accordingly.

Tuvalu did not have a colonial flag post-separation showing a crest. In any event, the real crest was not adopted until December 1976, which means it could not have been used on a flag starting in October 1976 as cited. Obviously, the colonial flag showing an incorrect crest never existed.

I am happy to provide any further clarification as requested.Jmichaelconway (talk) 08:52, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
