Corrections for accuracy and detail

Cobra Mansa was said to have had other jobs in the article, including the 2 years he spent as a police officer in Salvador. I believe more information should be added regarding this time, whether it influenced his career path as a capoeirista, etc. Additionally, the influence of his teachings should be emphasized beyond listing evidence of his work (I.e. creating capoeira schools across the globe). Reiterate the impact of his work in creating schools and rodas everywhere, he helped to revitalize the presence of capoeira in Brazil, starting in Rio de Janeiro, making it an important keystone in Brazilian culture once again. Also I believe it is important to mention his race in regards to capoeira's roots, deriving from African and Afro-Brazilian culture, and how the freedom to participate in a capoeira roda has become a right when in the past people were persecuted if they were seen doing capoeira. Additionally, Kilombo Tenonde is essentially a retreat where people go to learn about permaculture and capoeira, I would make it clear that this is not a Kilombo/quilombo that was initially established as a community by Afro-Brazilian slaves following abolition in Brazil. The spelling for Kombo Tenonde is not consistent either. Since it is the title of an organization, it should be spelled as "Kilombo Tenonde" in all instances. Finally, the article says under "History" that Kilombo Tenonde is split between two locations, which is simply not true. No evidence exsists on the internet, including all sites associated directly with Cobra Mansa, of a second location. The only Kilombo Tenonde is located near Valencia, in Bonfim, Bahia, however, the Wikipedia article Incorrectly states that it is located in Valencia. This is a good direction to take this article as you are not only adding information, you are taking away information that has no relevance or is incorrect. This is a good direction for this article keep going. You could find a way to add more information on Cobra's background and history, maybe what got him into capoeria. This could provide the reader with useful insights on the person you are trying to depict. Also you could add more about his family and friends, maybe he had some outside sources that influenced him to go into capoeira. Fish008 (talk) 01:44, 27 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is a great direction to take your research in. Citing another source besides the Official KILOMBO TENONDE SITE is not explicitly necessary but it might help qualify the authenticity of the research this writing is based on. Multiple perspectives can serve to confirm the accuracy of facts. The Kilombo Tenonde site is still a great source on its own. You are doing a great job outlining your intention to break down the larger topic and pursue specific aspects of it like Cobra Mansa's heritage and its importance in the work he does as a capoeira mestre. This is well thought out and well written. Well done!
