Coke studio Pakistan?

[edit]

Why is there no mention of Coke studio Pakistan, the success of which led Coca-Cola to launch it in India also? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.221.251.230 (talk) 07:43, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

– These television music programme articles need to be moved to correct disambiguation under WP:NCTV. --IJBall (contribstalk) 16:15, 5 January 2019 (UTC) --Relisting. SITH (talk) 18:28, 14 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Netoholic: I've made all three consistent, in this case – originally I had the Middle East one as "program", but I decided to just use "Commonwealth English" for all three, for WP:CONSISTENCY. My guess is that articles on the Middle East are a mix of "Commonwealth" and "American" spellings, but I have not looked. I'm not married to "programme" for the third of these, but the first two should almost certainly use the Commonwealth spelling, "programme". --IJBall (contribstalk) 16:48, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@IJBall: - I think there is no need to "guess". We know at least one major Commonwealth country (Australia) goes with "program" primarily, so to try and lump them together is already a flawed conclusion. Evidence for either spelling should be brought into the discussion from 1) sources used in the articles, 2) existing articles similarly disambiguated, 3) external sources which show a prevalence in the country in question, and perhaps 4) input from Pakastani wikiprojects/editors. -- Netoholic @ 01:17, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have a feeling that the middle east doesn't use the UK spelling, but I could be wrong. Anyways, support nom's proposal per WP:NCTV and if someone can shed more light on the ME version, I'm not against correcting my vote for it late. Current proposal is still much better even if the regional usage is off. --Gonnym (talk) 19:10, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Portions of the Middle East were under British mandates in the 20th Century, so some of their spelling may still endure... [shrug] --IJBall (contribstalk) 19:41, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
True, but none of them were ever commonwealth countries, nor is English a first language in those places (which makes the issue of program vs programme pretty mute here). --Gonnym (talk) 19:48, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Just to be clear, I'm not stuck on "programme" for the last one – I mostly did that for WP:CONSISTENCY with the other two. But in the case of the Middle East, I suspect both spellings of the word are probably valid. --IJBall (contribstalk) 19:55, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
