Broadcast or not broadcast?[edit]

If the "first tape of the interview was accidentally not broadcast", how was it that the 1968 interview provoked anger from some members of the public? Was there a second (duplicate) tape, or a second half of the interview, which was broadcast? If only half of the interview was broadcast- by "mistake" - could it be that he was then effectively being quoted out of context? As a lot is being made of this broadcast, a little more detail is required.203.184.41.226 (talk) 19:40, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In case anyone was wondering what this referred to, I think it might have been a slight mistelling of what happened. When researching the article, I read (sorry, I forget where, but it was a mainstream NZ news article, online) that the interviewer had been friendly to Ansell before the interview (to get him to agree to it), and then proceeded to shaft him in the interview. However, much to his chagrin, there was a problem and the interview was not recorded, so he had to go back straight away and ask if Ansell was willing to do the interview again. He was surprised to find Ansell thought it had gone well the first time, and was happy to do it again. Bromley86 (talk) 06:43, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
