I created this page when I was searching for information on R. Kent Hughes and discovered that College Church (the church where R. Kent Hughes is currently Senior Pastor Emeritus) did not yet have a Wikipedia page. Most, but not all, information comes from College Church's website. Church Report's list of 50 most etc.

[edit]

Copied, pasted, and slightly modified from what I said at Talk:Erwin McManus, since it mostly still applies:

The lead mentioned the The Church Report's list of "50 Most Influential Churches". It isn't a reliable source at all. This came up at Joel Osteen, and we eventually dug up this article from Christianity Today which raises serious questions about if the list is part of some sort of fraud. There's no reason to think any of the mentioned churches had anything to do with that mess, but regardless, it's completely unusable as a source. The magazine's domain has since been replaced with an unrelated blog. The Church Report article is also unrelated.

This particular page used a link from a site called Church Relevance. The site doesn't appear to be a WP:RS, and was simply republishing content from Church Report without substantial commentary or expansion. If someone wants to try and write an article about Church Report (magazine) so this could be contextualized, then it might be worth discussing restoring it, maybe, but otherwise it's PR gone wrong, and doesn't belong on Wikipedia.
