It would be nice if the article talked more in depth about the recruiting process. Things like calls, official visits, face to face talks with coaches etc. It would also make the article more comprehensive if recruiting for other sports was talked about. Even if the process is largely the same across all sports, it still doesn't make sense to highlight two sports and completely leave out the others. Some more info about how student athletes can get their name out their to increase their chances at being recruited wouldn't go amiss. JB2794 (talk) 22:45, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This article needs to discuss the recruiting process in more detail and shouldn't specifically mention 2 sports while leaving out the others. This article also assumes that if there is no scholarship offered in the recruiting process that it is a smaller school. I think that there can be a section added about how scholarships come into play when committing to a school. I think that this article can look at the recruiting process in 2 ways: through the student-athlete, and through college coaches. Rename or expand?[edit]

This article only covers recruiting in the US so far. It might be a good idea to move it to something like Sports recruiting in the United States. Captain Conundrum (talk) 11:57, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It might also be worth including the process for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The recruiting process at the NAIA level is much more relaxed than the NCAA and provides different opportunities. MaxMurph1 (talk) 14:57, 21 March 2019 (UTC)MaxMurph1[reply]
