CRC 1881 Regatta Trophy Tankards

[edit]

These 2 trophy tankards were I believe awarded at a Regatta in 1881. The Junior Pairs names H. Creasy and F. Liesching as rowers. H Creasy was I believe the same Creasy that founded the law firm Julius&Creasy and who has the eponymous regatta listed in this article. Please see photo at http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=417408738325810&set=a.176720055728014.43848.100001700617066&type=1&theater

The other tankard is for scratch fours and lists 2 Lieschings (presumably brothers) and E. Booth as well as a Mr Townsend.

L.O. Liesching and E. Booth also rowed in a 1886 Race against 4 ex-Oxford University rowers as described in a fascinating book http://www.ebooksread.com/authors-eng/thomas-brassey-brassey-earl-thomas-allnutt-brassey-earl/sixteen-months-travel-1886-87-goo/page-3-sixteen-months-travel-1886-87-goo.shtml — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.174.19.7 (talk) 14:07, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
