Sources?[edit]

I would dearly love to see the sources for these claims:

"The Mexican Revolution resulted in the exodus of many colonists from the region; some left permanently while others returned after a few years. However, this exodus was no different from the general exodus from the country of middle-class Mexicans who could afford to leave the tumult of the area. Many families of all backgrounds sent women and children to the United States or Europe during the Revolution; others left completely. Though it is true that the Mormon colonies in Mexico were less populated after this exodus, claims of "ethnic cleansing of the gringos" are not supported by the basic historical facts. Indeed, many of the colonists actively supported the Revolution and were befriended by Pancho Villa and other revolutionaries." AllenHansen (talk) 16:38, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disambig[edit]

It seems Colonia Juárez and Juárez both sometimes are called Ciudad Juárez. Would someone familiar with these places please disambiguate them? --Una Smith (talk) 19:05, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Too Broad[edit]

The article convey very little information about the city itself. The vast majority of it is devoted to a general overview of mormon colonies in mexico. For example, when was the town founded? The closes the article offers is the statement that "By the beginning of the 20th century, Chihuahua and other Mexican states were home to hundreds of thousands of Mormons". I think the article as it exists now should be scrapped or moved to an article that concerns the general phenomena of Mexican mormon colonies. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.38.78.150 (talk) 23:34, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Remove whitewashing[edit]

An editor should really take a look at this article and edit it for neutrality. Somebody specifically wrote chunks of this in an attempt to whitewash the association between the LDS church and polygamy. It is an easily verifiable fact that polygamists kept wives in Canada, the US and Mexico, allowing them to be married multiple times without the knowledge of government authorities. It's also pointless to mention that the LDS church does not currently practice polygamy; that fact has nothing to do with Colonia Juarez or its history. Wikipedia's own page on polygamy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.188.103.52 (talkcontribs) 06:34, 16 March 2010
