Clutter[edit]

Can we move most of the stats to a new article, they just seem to clutter the article so much and you have to scrool through so much of it to actually read the articles text. The stats are great though could they be hidden in drop down boxes like templates or I think keeping one of two, maybe the most recent stats, a comparison to that, and maybe a historicly great or poor season?Qrc2006 01:14, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Colors?[edit]

The main table lists CU football's colors as "silver and gold." I'm wondering if this is correct because: (1) There's no mention of black, when that is definitely the most prominent color in the CU uniform, and (2) I've never seen Colorado wear silver before.-PassionoftheDamon 23:10, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The official colors are silver and gold because of the ore deposits in the mountains, but the football team adopted black at some point and it has unofficially taken over for silver in most sports. Zzz345zzZ

Katie Hnida?[edit]

I think the article on the Colorado football team should at least mention Katie Hnida and the whole scandal involving her. (Somrandomguy 21:59, 21 February 2007 (UTC))[reply]

I agree, but it shouldn't be a focus. There have been 4 major infractions at CU over the years and all three should be covered. We can copy some text from Gary Barnett and Katie Hnida about that incident to get it started. Image:Joe Romig.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. team nickname[edit]

cubuffs.com says, "1934?The school nickname and mascot is officially designated “Buffaloes.” The Silver & Gold newspaper sponsored a contest, as the school had no steadfast nickname or symbol; other newspapers at the time picked up the story and entries were coming in from all over the nation. Teams were often called the Silver and Gold, Silver Helmets, Yellow Jackets, Hornets, Arapahoes, Big Horns, Grizzlies and Frontiersmen."

Right now we use "Silver and Gold" prior to 1934 and "Bufaloes" from 1934 onwards. So some years prior to 1934 might be incorrect. UW Dawgs (talk) 15:17, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

We are not allowed to wholesale copy the entirety of sources into our articles, per WP:COPYVIO, even if we clearly state that the material is reproduced in its entirety.
